Life, Politics, ect

Its been awhile.  I have the opportunity to be going to Germany on deployment for the next four months.  Though it will be lonely with out friends and family with me I will have the opportunity in supporting my fellow soldiers and to do my job.   Which is good seeing I got let go from my last job with Allegiance, so a deployment comes as a blessing right now.  I finally finished my BA in Anthropology, but have not a clue what to do with it.  Looks like I may start back at square one and go back for an AS in Respiratory Therapy.  I look forward to seeing how the upcoming elections come out.  I am cheering for the vet and chick (seriously they are the only sane choice).   I just wanted to touch base, but will be posting pics and stories of my life on deployment soon.  Later gaters!

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers day to those of you that are lucky to be called Dad or Grandfather. I want to send a thank you to my Grandfather who has been one of the primary influences of the male model for me.  My husband and I were talking the other day about the traits that I have that influences my actions.  I get my stubbornness from my Mother, my brains from my Uncle (well, it is a shared trait in my family), my cooking from my Grandmother, and my procrastination from my Grandfather.  What does this make me?  A smart cook that knows when to call for take out, because I put off going grocery shopping.  In any case, I love my family and everything that have taught me, even if it had to be done in the form of a lecture once or twice.  To my Poppy- Happy Fathers Day.

Summer Rush

I have been negligent in my updates. I have been busy with the daily activities that consist of my life. Where to start? Blanding in its self was interesting, and no I did not walk away with any welts what so ever, but the production and the enforcement of stated rules left much to be desired. Lets us say that though we had superior numbers we had a few thing stacked against us. First the our base and insertion point was located way out in the woods and far away from the city its self. Secondly the refs were terrible and would continuously make calls that were in favor of the other side. Third, the other side was like fighting the zombie horde with them never calling out or “dieing”. Last, the paint sucked (and for $70 a case you would expect it to a least break). My tutu was a hit though. One of the XF guys would of nailed me except he realized I was in a tutu, so it saved my …

Anyway, the dance recital went well and I do not think I made that many mistakes. If anything I danced my little heart out. I can be practical and say I will never be a ballerina, but there is something wonderful about going up on stage; the lights, make-up, and rush behind stage. I miss performing.

I will be finishing up Spanish next week. It has gone by in a blur, and I still have one more summer course to survive.  I can at least tell you I need to study in Spanish and were I live.  Wish me luck for the next semester, because if this one was had the next one will be harder. Its late. I need to head home, but I will try to post again soon.

Spanish Anyone?

Hello everyone.  I have enrolled in Spanish for the summer and am now enjoying the break neck speed at which these classes go.  I have a test on chapters one and two for tomorrow.  I also have a group presentation next Tuesday.  Ahhh!  I need to start watching Spanish cartoons.  In any case we are looking forward to Camp Blanding and I am trying to decide between the red or white tutu for playing the night game.  Oh decisions, decisions.  Life seems to pile those at your feet till you do something.  For now though, I have a date with some flash cards.  I will talk to you later!

The Results Are In

Well I made it out of GI Joe with seven welts, but only four of them have that cool blue, yellow, and purple color pattern thing going on. We had a few problems though.  Our camp was in what I fondly called the dust bowl- sand everywere!  Just before I went into the game my marker (paintball gun) had an air leak, so I ended up barrowing one with a remote air line that felt like a leash.  This was the fourth or fifth time my marker has broken, so I am buying a Tippman A-5 next.  Lastly, is that when we registered we were going to be on GI Joe side, but due to the one side not having night vision we were put on Cobra (I got the Baroness card!), but come Sunday after we have been holding the line against GI Joe we were swapped to GI Joes side.  It didn’t matter, because no matter what side we went on that was the side that maintained control of the field.  What really got us mad though was at the end for the awards, XF was not even acknowledged nor any of our players received awards.  The only person that got mention was Mari only because the owner’s wife thought she was so cute going on the field early and coming off way late.  Let’s face it, an eleven year old girl with a gun, camo, and an “I’ll splatter paint all over you buddy” look on her face is kinda cute. Well that was her second senerio, the votes went out, and she was voted on the team.   I got a code name while I was there- Tigger!  I kept bouncing around the field, and oddly I think it is highly appropriate.
The next scenario we are going to is Camp Blanding and is going to be based off the FEAR video game. If you chek out wikipedia it gives a complete breakdown of the plot and charaters.  Here is the link in case you want to check out the production; it’s got a picture of the facility. http://www.viperpaintball.com/index.php?module=Pagesetter&func=viewpub&tid=2&pid=20  This has like, six story buildings and a town, it’s going to be awesome!  Normally I don’t care to much about this stuff, but this is going to be a very urban assault type of fighting that I find more challenging than say…running though the woods.  They cap out at 800 players so I am rushing to get our registry forms in.
Beyond that, I have my ballet recital on May 26th at 2:00pm at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center to attend.  I will be in two dances this year.  I like the one titled "The Waltz of the Roses" the best; it has less jumping.  I have a reserve weekend this weekend and have to do my run with push-ups, so add a prayer my way.  I also have some computer training to go to for work on Monday, May 8th for the new payroll system.  Till next week.
